There are pillars in life whose vitality we need to utilized, pillars that’ll make us succeed throughout what we do. For the next couple minutes I want to focus on one specific, capable of making you achieve what you want, personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility is the willingness that human beings choose, instigate, or otherwise cause their own actions in order to make things happen. This will provide an edge in life, to those who know how to take advantage of it. The reason why this is so important is because our lives are filled with decisions, some will affect other people, so we need to be well trained on how to make them in order to give a positive contribution to society.

This decision takes time and hard work to develop, which is proof of how worth it it is. So, here are some tricks for you to implement that will most likely help you in your responsibility journey.

Self leadership

Learning to lead yourself will allow you to make decisions not based on emotions, however objectively, and take you to achieve whatever you put yourself up to. The moment you are capable of setting goals and make a strategy to get them, as well as self motivate yourself to overcome any obstacle that could come your way, is an ability many struggle with. It’ll come, with time and consistency, but once you get there, it will be enough.

Proactivity

proactivity is defined as a behavior that’s self-initiated from an individual on any situation, usually a helpful addition. Things won’t come easy, and being proactive will mean we are doing something to achieve it without anyone telling us what to do. This step is closely related to self leadership, since you learning to guide yourself will provide you with the mentality of making things happen, and this will lead to being proactive.

Enjoy failure

It’s a given fact that in order to succeed, we need to go through failure. However failure is not necessarily a negative thing, rather an opportunity to learn and grow. For us to take the reins of any situation, it very helpful to know what hasn’t work in the past. So I encourage you to try new things, take risks, and if you fail perceive ramifications as a growing experience. It will be worth it, and it will take you to triumph.

Imagine what a different world we would live in if everyone would be responsible and self conscious about their actions. If from a young age we teach children on this matter, of thinking the consequences of their actions and how they would affect their environment. There is hope still, let’s not take it for granted.
